Mike Sweeney

Capping a successful career in banking and finance, Mike has dedicated himself to leadership coaching where he shares his experience building and managing top performing teams.


A highly effective communicator, Mike is a particularly adept mentor for those managing through organizational and personal change. He uses the Leadership Circle 360 and believes in Franklin Covey’s speed of trust principles as part of his work with leaders.

Mike began his career in banking at Hartford National Bank and Manufacturers Hanover Leasing and then moved to more entrepreneurial entities, holding a series of positions leading to President and COO of Coronet Funding, a NY-based healthcare financier from 1998 to 2004.


In 2004, Mike was a day one member of the leadership team at US Express Leasing, a private equity funded start-up lessor that was acquired by EverBank in 2010, and in turn TIAA Bank in 2017. Mike’s role grew from General Manager of the Healthcare vertical where he built a prominent specialty finance team from the ground up, to SVP Originations where he led the company’s entire business development organization through a period of significant growth to become a billion dollar plus enterprise.


Mike and his team have worked with some of the top manufacturers and distributors of Office Technology, Transportation and Healthcare technology and solutions. His most recent role was SVP Strategic Programs, where he was responsible for closing, onboarding, and managing the company’s largest portfolio acquisition and vendor finance program.


Mike has served as the Chairman of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association's Vendor and Captive Industry Council. He has also been a frequent author and speaker about equipment finance and healthcare topics.


He holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut and a BA from Long Island University. An avid golfer and local community volunteer, Mike and his wife Carol reside in Fairfield, CT when they are not traveling.
